Frequently Asked Questions
Appointments & Studio Visits
-
No. All visits to the studio are strictly by appointment only so we can provide a private, personalised experience.
-
We strongly recommend booking as early as possible to ensure gown availability and sufficient production time before your wedding date.
-
Yes, a non-refundable booking fee may apply. If you purchase a gown at your appointment, this fee will be credited toward your gown order. If no purchase is made, the booking fee is forfeited.
-
Your first bridal appointment runs for approximately 60–75 minutes, giving you plenty of time to explore styles, try on gowns, and talk through your vision.
If you’re still deciding and would like to revisit your favourite gowns before making a final decision, we offer complimentary 2nd appointments — simply reach out and we’ll find a time that suits you.
-
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late arrivals of more than 15 minutes, no-shows, or insufficient notice will result in forfeiture of your booking fee and may affect your ability to rebook.
-
We are located on Terrigal esplanade in the arcade next to Lemmy’s.
-
We recommend wearing nude, seamless underwear and keeping makeup light — please avoid heavy makeup, lipstick, or fake tan (especially within a few days of your appointment) as these can transfer onto gowns. You’re welcome to bring your own heels, but we also have pairs available in the studio for you to try.
Guests, Children & Studio Etiquette

Guest numbers are limited to the number advised at booking (usually a maximum of 2 unless approved in advance). Extra guests may be refused entry.

Children under the approved age are not permitted unless we have provided written approval prior to your appointment.

No all gowns at Aura are made to order. This ensures every dress is created especially for you, maintaining the quality, fit, and detail each designer is known for.
-
Aura carries a curated edit of exclusive designer gowns, with sample sizes ranging from AU 8–14. Each gown is made to order in your closest size and tailored to designer specifications.
Fit, Measurements & Alterations
-
Almost always! As each gown is made to order in your closest size, minor adjustments such as hemming or tightening the bodice are typically needed to achieve that flawless fit.
-
No. Measurements are a production guide only. Fit may change due to body composition changes between ordering and final fitting.
-
No. Unless stated otherwise in writing, alterations are not included.
-
Alterations are completed by independent third-party seamstresses. If we provide a referral, we are not responsible for their workmanship or final fit outcome. Any dispute must be resolved directly with the seamstress.
Payments, Deposits & Chargebacks
-
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to place your order and secure production.
-
The remaining balance must be paid in full before your gown is released for collection.
-
Failure to pay may result in order suspension, cancellation, forfeiture of amounts paid, storage fees and recovery action.
-
By placing an order, you agree not to initiate chargebacks on valid transactions. If a dispute occurs, you remain liable for the outstanding balance and we may suspend your order until it is resolved.
Lead Times, Delays & Delivery
-
We suggest starting your dress search about 12 months before your wedding day and making your final decision 8–10 months out. This allows time for your gown to be created and delivered, plus an additional few weeks for alterations to achieve that perfect fit.
If your wedding is coming up sooner, don’t stress — we will work with our designers to see what’s possible within your timeline.
-
Most gowns take around 5–8 months to be made depending on the designer. If your wedding date is sooner, our designers offer rush options for an additional fee.
-
No. All timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by manufacturing schedules, fabric availability, shipping, customs delays, weather, public health orders or government restrictions.
-
Delays outside our control do not entitle you to cancel, seek a refund, exchange or chargeback (except where required by Australian Consumer Law for faults).
Collection, Storage & Risk
-
You will be notified when your gown is ready. Gowns must be collected within 30 days of notification.
-
Storage fees may apply. After 90 days, an uncollected gown may be treated as abandoned for the purposes of mitigating storage loss.
-
Risk passes to you once the gown is collected. Legal ownership transfers only once full payment is received.
Sample Gowns & Studio Property
